At the lumpectomy yesterday, at Mayo in Minnesota. The verdict
was no cancer at all. Really really glad I went out-of-state for a second
opinion. I don't understand it, but Mayo says that the tissue from the first
biopsy was not sufficient to make a cancer diagnosis. I called the doctor to let them know, and the nurse told me "oh that's the pathology department."
It's been a roller coaster couple of weeks, but in the end I am
super super grateful to the universe or whoever. And to you all here, for
keeping me in your positive thoughts and nurturing wishes. It's also opened my
eyes to the reality of what many other women go through.
For now, I'm just healing from the surgery. The surgeon to take
my procedure also is the plastic surgeon, so he did a little bit of realigning
things so that the results are cosmetically okay. A little discomfort and
narcotic use, just for a few days, then it's all all over. Whew!
